High School and College Summer Groups
Real-Life Skills for Managing Time, Responsibilities, and Independence
As students get older, expectations increase—but the skills to manage everything don’t always come naturally.
These groups are designed to help teens and young adults build practical systems they can actually use in their everyday lives—from managing time and responsibilities to navigating the transition into college with more confidence and independence.
All Things Adulting:
Time Management
This group is all about helping students actually use their time—not just talk about it.
Each week, students will be building and practicing a real system using their own schedules, responsibilities, and routines. By the end of the group, they won’t just understand time management—they’ll have something in place that works for them.
What Students Will Be Doing:
Setting up and using a Google Calendar to organize their time
Learning to see time visually so it actually makes sense
Breaking responsibilities into “need to’s” and “want to’s”
Time blocking their day and week in a realistic way
Practicing how to guesstimate how long tasks actually take
Learning how to build in cushion time (prep time, drive time, transitions)
Figuring out how to get started on tasks (even when they don’t feel like it)
Building strategies to work more efficiently, not just longer
Learning how to be more independent with their time and responsibilities
This isn’t about giving students more to do—it’s about helping them figure out how to manage what they already have in a way that actually works.
Students will be practicing these skills in real time, with support, so they can start using them right away at home—and carry them into the school year.
When: Sundays, 4:00 - 4:50pm CST
8 total sessions in June & July
Where: Zoom

College Transitions
(Launching August–September)
This group is designed for both first-time college students and those returning to college who want more structure, support, and confidence going into the semester.
Whether your student is starting fresh or coming back after a challenging first year, we focus on setting up systems, expectations, and routines before and during those first few weeks—so they’re not trying to figure it all out on their own.
We start with the real conversations that often get skipped—like communication and boundaries with parents. What do they know? What are they responsible for? How does money work? What is expected on both sides? Getting clear on this early makes a huge difference.
From there, we build practical systems students can use right away. This includes setting up a homework and task system so they know what they have, when it’s due, how long it will take, and when they’ll actually do it—along with how to get started, stay focused, and follow things through to completion.
We also focus on the day-to-day pieces of independent living—managing time, balancing school and social life, building healthy habits, navigating roommate dynamics, and handling responsibilities without constant reminders.
This group runs through August and September to provide support during the transition—not just before it.
Students will also have access to an optional weekly body double Zoom session on Sundays at 5:00pm, giving them a built-in time for accountability, focus, and getting things done.
